1976

In 1976 I was four years old. I don't remember much but I do remember how amped everybody was about the bicentennial.  That year for christmas my brother and I got a spirit of 76 train set and a Tyco stars and stripes slot car track. My dad seemed to play with them more than us, but I loved them just the same. Everybody was getting in on the action. The whole world looked red white and blue.

Probably my favorite is the Bicentennial Harleys . The company, then owned by AMF, was getting their ass kicked and in 76 they were the only motorcycle company who could capitalize on Bicentennial fever. If I could have any bike it would be a Bicentennial Sportster. The graphics are perfect.

Barney the Dude.

I know it's corny, but I love the the Andy Griffith show before Don Knotts left.

4 doors.

The ongoing debate over weather or not 4 doors are cool is wore out. In the end I think they operate under a definite handicap but there are some clear examples out there that demonstrate they can really bring it.
